Possible Low Country Boil/Beach Party- October 2: Cruising Chairman, Ken Koenig has another fun event in store. Here’s Ken’s recap: “One of the more memorable experiences Mary Lou and I had on a Schooner Trip to Maine a few years back was a Lobster Bake on a rocky inlet with several new & old friends. So I got to thinking that we ought to try to do something along those lines here, but Lobster isn’t so indigenous. We have Crawdads and Freshwater Shrimp. Then I had an occasion to partake of a Low Country Boil experience at a recent family gathering, and I thought “Oh Yeah!” So here’s the deal: IF IT LOOKS LIKE THERE IS SUFFICIENT INTEREST, KLSC WILL SPONSOR A LOW COUNTRY BOIL / BEACH PARTY IN SMITH BAY ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 2ND. By “sufficient interest” I mean that I need to have at least (7) boats express an interest and intention of coming. Less than (7) boats, we’ll have weenies and s’mores over a fire, but, that’s OK too. Google “Low Country Boil” to get an idea of the plan. If it’s a go, bring veggie’s etc, to throw into the pot. Oct. 8–10 - Fall Distance Race: Put this event on your calendar now. Click here for details. Chairman Chip Riddle reports that racers can expect another highlight to our fall calendar with a fabulous race planned to Ken Lake Marina on Saturday and a social and dinner planned at Ken Lake that evening from 6 to 10 p.m. The race then starts back up at 8 a.m. on Sunday. Be the captain, race as crew, attend the social only or do it all--just make sure you don't miss out.
